Older People's Engagement
Communities in Partnership works to raise the voice of older people by working in partnership with Health, Social Care and voluntary sector organisations to include older people in issues that concern them, and help them to have influence in the development and planning of services.
The Older People’s Engagement Network is co-ordinated by CiP, and led by our Engagement Officer who brings together networks, both virtual and actual, of older people to consult, inform, and engage, in/on the delivery of services for older people.
They give their views on a wide range of initiatives such as transport, housing, and dignity in care, influencing changes taking place in the NHS and the County Council. They also represent the views of Older People at regional and national level, and themselves belong to forums and groups in their local area.
The CiP Engagement Officer also co-ordinates Older Persons’ Month which, with the support of representatives from statutory and voluntary organisations around the county, is celebrated by events and activities that take place throughout September each year.
