Reaching People Consortium
Communities in Partnership (CiP) have led in developing a VCS Consortium for Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland.
Reaching People is a consortium of service providers, registered as an independent Charity and Company limited by guarantee, owned and controlled by its members. The mission of the consortium is:
“To improve the circumstances and quality of life for people, especially those who are most disadvantaged and/or have health problems, by working in partnership to deliver innovative solutions to support them to make confident choices, form positive relationships and reach their full potential."
The founding members of Reaching People believe that it will harness the Voluntary and Community Sector’s unique skills, expertise, diversity and commitment. This strength, combined with the cost efficiencies a consortium provides, will give it a significant advantage when competing for public service contracts. Reaching People will be a truly innovative development that will add value and choice for users and commissioners alike.
CiP is now supporting the continued development of the Consortium by acting as the hub, which is the central infrastructure and staff resource, that acts as the executive engine of the consortium, including:
- Negotiating and sub-letting contracts.
- Intermediary between funders.
- Leadership.
- Negotiation.
- Tender writing.
- Contract management.
- Resource allocation.
- Quality improvement and organisational capacity building.
- Seeking out new funding and business development opportunities.
